Recreation in the
Lewis-Clark Valley
Fishing, hunting, boating, jet skiing, kayaking, canoeing, biking, hiking, camping, riding ATVs, horseback riding and golf are prevalent in the Lewis-Clark Valley. We built a new skateboard park where it's as much fun to watch local daredevils as it is to participate. The Gate to Hells Canyon is a few minutes south of Clarkston and Lewiston, and the Nez Perce Reservation is just to the southeast, a short drive away. This is where you'll find world-class fishing and the kinds of annual events that bring people to the Valley from every corner of the country.

Attractions in the Lewis-Clark Valley
Here’s a short list of things to do in the Lewis-Clark Valley. It’s not everything; that would take a book. But, this will give you some good ideas to get started.
Hells Canyon National Recreation Area
Dramatic vistas will greet you at every turn in this remote area -- a favorite for day trips and photographers from across the globe. Hells Canyon travels between three states: Washington, Idaho and Oregon. It's also where Evil Knievel famously attempted to jump the Snake River in a specially designed rocket. Take a private or hosted boat ride, a horse ride, kayak or hike. Many locals in the valley even own their own jetboats and can share with you where the best secluded beaches are. Hells Canyon is America's deepest river gorge; it's even deeper than the Grand Canyon. It's a natural beauty that is hard to forget once you've seen it in person.
Nez Perce County
Historical Society Museum
Experience the rich history of the Native American Nez Perce Tribe, remembered especially for having saved the Lewis and Clark Expedition team from starvation following their harrowing journey through the Bitterroot Mountains. The fascinating display of rare Native American and pioneer artifacts is among the best in the world.
Snake River Adventures
Experience the rapids firsthand and spend the day on a jet boat tour with the numerous boat tour businesses offered in the valley. All tours feature the canyon's history, geology, flora and fauna in addition to its beauty and exciting whitewater. See North America's deepest gorge firsthand -- deeper than the Grand Canyon, and a place of unsurpassed beauty. This is Hells Canyon, where the Snake River offers a cathedral-like view of natural beauty, where wild bighorn sheep, cougars and other wildlife flourish. Here, the lofted walls and spires of rock reach heights of nearly 10,000 feet! If you love fishing, take an Angler's tour, available as individual or group charters. Other specialty tours are offered, such as "Wine on the Snake" and much, much more.
Over a dozen local vineyards
It's as if God intended grapes to be grown here. These local vineyard's wines have won multiple national awards and are some of the best the United States has to offer. Spend an afternoon, an evening, or plan a private event at one of our local vineyards -- exotic locations where the food and wine are out of this world.
